3 Tips for Getting Unstuck…
I have been where you are.
I have felt STUCK in my career:
So stuck that it felt hard to get out of bed in the morning to go to work
So stuck that while I knew I was meant for something more I couldn't find the motivation to take action - my confidence was at an all time low
So stuck that I kept making excuses for why I couldn't make a change - I had a job that paid really well, I had built a reputation, things were still okay
So stuck that I would tell my friends and family that everything was going great, because I wasn't ready to face the truth
When you feel that way it can be hard to imagine that things will turn around (but trust me, they WILL!).
If this is how you are feeling right now - I have got you. A big grand vision of a career that makes you excited to get out of bed in the morning may feel far away, or even impossible.
Instead, take baby steps of action to slowly pull yourself out of it:
Let yourself sit in the negative emotions - invite them in. When we bury our feelings they fester for longer. Have a cry, yell, whatever comes naturally to you.
Change your environment - when you feel your most stuck and in your head - get off your laptop and change things up. Take a 10 mins walk around the block, go get a coffee, put on some music and dance. Switching your environment can shift your mindset.
Document your wins - at the end of every day write down 3 things that went well. It may be something small like a walk around the block, or watching your kid play sports, or something big like a good meeting. You want to start training your brain to look for the good - it will start to multiply!
These tips will start to allow you to shift your mindset so you can start to see a potential path forward to getting unstuck.
