As I write this I am on the plane flying home from a magical week in Whistler for a retreat with my coach and her amazing community of entrepreneurs. The power of investing the time and money in my own personal and professional development and growth always has a massive ROI.
This week we went deep into the stories we tell ourselves that keep us in our comfort zone and hold us back from achieving our big goals and dreams (I have some doozies!). The hardest part is that we believe that these stories are facts - undeniable truths.
What stories are you telling yourself?
Your story may sound something like:
I am not cut out to be an executive
I am not technical
I could never start my own business
I am not good with money
I would love to get promoted, but I don't want to sacrifice time with my family
I know, I know, if one of these stories hit home you are probably like "yeah, but for me it really is true…” and tell me all of your evidence to prove that it is true. That is why our stories are so tricky - they shape our worldview so we constantly reinforce them with external evidence. Despite this reinforcement, they are unequivocally not facts
The big, meaningful impact and income that you want is on the other side of those stories.
